Grab a Tube and Get in Touch with Your Inner-Child

Before we get too far into March, thus officially leaving winter behind for spring, take a moment to dress in your water-proof best and head to the mountains where a winter wonderland is still in high gear.  Many of my friends go to Big Bear and Tahoe to ski and snowboard on the fresh powder on a weekly basis.  As for me, I prefer to take things easy on the slopes and enjoy tubing.  I mean, black diamonds are fun and everything, but those rock hard boots? Not so much.

My sister, her fiancee, and I went tubing at the Ski Bowl near Mt. Hood.  Just about an hour's drive from Portland, the Ski Bowl offers lift tickets, snowmobiling, and tubing seven days a week in the winter season.  It was fabulous because even though we went on a weekend it was still not overly crowded (a major perk of the Pacific Northwest!) and we never had to wait in line for more than five minutes or so.  Sliding down hills in an oversized inner tube is a wonderful way to spend your day, and for $15 for two hours or $25 for all day, you really can't beat the price.  Just hop on that donut and say weeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!
